Financial Assistance Programs for Medical Equipment & Supplies
If budgetary concerns are holding you back from purchasing your home medical equipment, there are a variety of provincial and national programs that can partially or fully fund your medical equipment or supplies.
Funding programs
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
VAC offers financial aid to eligible veterans 14 different programs. These Programs of Choice (POC) can cover medical equipment. In some cases, funding will only be provided after approval from a VAC-approved healthcare professional, along with an additional health professional.
Canadian Arm Forces (CAF)
The CAF provides a wide variety of both prescription and non-prescription drugs to its members. These medications are defined in the Drug Benefit List. The medications on this list must generally be proven to provide a therapeutic effect. Other products, such as selected medical devices or supplies may also be included as Drug Benefits if there is evidence available to support their therapeutic value.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
RCMP provides a wide variety of medical supplies and equipment to its members. Medical devices or supplies are included, if there is evidence available to support their therapeutic value.
